Can We Save The American Dream?

Wake Up Before It is Too Late

There is an ongoing, insidious disguised, bloodless but nonetheless devastating attack on the American way. The majority of people are unaware that this is happening. Either we confront it head on or we will lose everything. We need to wake up and do the right thing before it is too late.

The war for the hearts and minds of our people, especially our children, the culture/moral war is raging. It is happening in front of our eyes everyday on our dining tables or lack of them, in classrooms, theaters, shopping malls and recreation areas. The combatants are not in military uniform or dressed in camouflage. On the one side are the elite celebrities and their followers, Dan Rather, Snoop Dogg, Madonna, Ward Churchill, Michael Jackson. On the other side are the parents, grandparents and believers in God who live moral and traditional lives. The weaponry is not guns or bombs it is the airwaves that penetrate and warp the minds of individuals. These modern weapons are video games, television, movies, ipods, mp3 players, CD players, DVD players that penetrate and affect the minds of the electronically obsessed people.

In the Moral/Culture War we are witnessing acting-out: lying, cheating, lazy children with minimal conscience. We no longer receive customer service. We are bombarded with politically correct nonsense that causes us to self-censor. We are being invaded by obscenity. We watch ridiculous, phony Smuggers in positions of power on an almost daily basis.

The Moral/Culture War will eventually be decided and the impact will be real to every American citizen.

Victory for secular Smuggers would obliterate all vestiges of our historically exceptional moral culture. The Smugger elites have been on the offense for the last 40 years. Hedonism, pleasure for the sake of pleasure, will continue to grow as a primary motivator for the average American. It will be a world where good is bad and bad is good and personal responsibility is almost non-existent. The family and marriage will be relics of the past. Abortion, divorce, representative government, the work ethic, evil and God will become meaningless in a world without absolute moral values. The government will provide deteriorating cradle to grave entitlements. Life will be easier for the less than ambitious though with less opportunity for success. Personal power and standards of living will fall for the average citizen while increasing for elite bureaucrats. Elite power will be centralized where bureaucrats, like judges, will legislate laws eliminating the need for legitimate elections. Any mentioning of God will be censored while godlike status will be granted to elites in government, minority groups and entertainers. Drugs will be more available to all citizens to control anti-social and emotional states. Children will be given rights equal to adults without having to obtain any particular level of maturity. Schools will be further dumbed down to meet the entertainment, social and emotional rather than academic needs of students. Bullies, thugs, felons and sexual perverts will be tolerated and even glorified. Parenting will be attempted in government centers run by licensed professionals rather than loving parents. Foreign policy will be administered by reaching an international consensus that will disregard national interests. As national interest concerns diminish the economy will fall in line with more struggling nations. Pessimism, anxiety and fear will permeate the society. The American dream will become an historical footnote.

The optimistic American dream will only be rekindled by returning to our moral values. People will have a healthy fear of God and of doing evil deeds. Democracy will be more vibrant with morally courageous people. Consumerism, materialism, “want-lust” and greed will recede in importance. As the identity of a person becomes spiritually oriented, corruption, laziness and self-absorption will fade. Responsibility, initiative and positive role modeling will spread. Family members will make personal sacrifices for the sake of each other creating strong communities. As the family solidifies, children with both a father and mother will be taught healthy thinking and habits. The work ethic will be strongly cultivated in moral families. Celebrities produced by the fantasy world will lose their potency and will be replaced by real heroic people living exemplary lives. The trend of the anti-hero will be reversed. Everyday life will take greater effort without entitlement and instant gratification, unlimited credit and drugs. In the long run increased interdependence, responsibility, honesty and frugality will result in freedom, peace and prosperity for our citizens. We will shore up the foundations of our historically great civilization.

America has a stark choice in this world. We can continue down the easy path of making and spending as much money as possible to feel good and appear important to others. This hedonistic choice laced with evil influences will be vulnerable to terrorism, foreign invasion and inevitable chaos.

The other road is harder and bumpier with many goals to accomplish while maintaining high moral standards that necessarily limit personal freedom and pleasure. Conscientious citizens will “take care of business” on every level. Real satisfaction, which cannot be found in self-indulgence, will be experienced in living a good life, raising a high functioning family and participating in a strong nation.

We Americans have the destiny of our country in our hands. The end of the moral/culture war will determine our children and grandchildren’s future.
